I’ve always enjoyed writing as a way to express my creativity and emotions, so I created this space to share my life’s journey with you. You’ll see posts about beauty, style, family, home, career, and everything in between. My hope is to encourage and inspire you in your own journey and perhaps we can learn and laugh along the way together.

BEHIND THE NAME

 I wanted the title of my blog to be an authentic reflection of who I am and how I strive to live my life. When Freckles, Grace & Grit popped into my head, I knew my blog finally had a name. Here's a short and sweet break down of the name! Since I was a little girl, I've had freckles sprinkled all over my face (and all my life I've loved each freckle that God chose to place on me!). So that part of the name represents me! Next comes grace & grit. Grace is defined as "simple elegance; courteous goodwill" and grit can be defined as "courage and resolve; strength of character". The essence of these two words is what I hope to convey through my writing as I share my life with you all.

Soon after I came up with the name, my blog's mantra, "Growing With Grace & Grit", was born. Instead of merely “getting through”, I feel that choosing the perspective to grow through life can only lead to a fuller and richer experience. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Let’s make a pact to grow through life with a healthy dose of grace and grit!

MORE ABOUT ME

I live in sunny St. Augustine, FL with my husband Geoffrey and we are so excited to be expecting our first child in August. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Science from Florida State University (go Noles!) and currently work as a recruiting and sourcing consultant. When I’m not matchmaking, I manage my mobile makeup business Beauty Therapy By Kara glamming up my clients for their wedding day or styled photo shoot. I enjoy shopping, trying out new restaurants, watching movies, going to concerts, making our house a home and spending time with family. I love beauty, fashion, interior design and never turn down a cupcake.
